William Makepeace Thackeray (sinh ngày 18/07/1811 tại Calcutta, Ấn Độ – mất ngày 24/12/1863 tại London, Anh) là tiểu thuyết gia, nhà viết tiểu luận và họa sĩ minh họa người Anh. Ông nổi tiếng với lối châm biếm xã hội sắc sảo, đặc biệt trong “Vanity Fair”, tiểu thuyết khắc họa tham vọng, tiền bạc và những quy tắc đạo đức của xã hội Anh thế kỷ XIX. Thackeray được xem là một trong những nhà văn quan trọng của thời kỳ Victoria, bên cạnh Charles Dickens và George Eliot.
