John Buchan (sinh ngày 26/08/1875 tại Perth, Scotland – mất ngày 11/02/1940 tại Montreal, Canada) là nhà văn, nhà sử học, chính khách và chính trị gia người Scotland. Ông nổi tiếng với tiểu thuyết phiêu lưu “The Thirty-Nine Steps”, tác phẩm kể về một người đàn ông bị cuốn vào âm mưu gián điệp quốc tế. Cuốn sách có ảnh hưởng lớn đến dòng tiểu thuyết thriller và nhiều lần được chuyển thể. Từ năm 1935 đến năm 1940, Buchan giữ chức Toàn quyền Canada.
